    In addition to my love of astronomy I have always loved the natural world and in particular our animal friends. Animals always show unconditional love, sadly even those who have been abused and neglected show a remarkable ability to recover and live long lives. I have owned many pets over the years and I am proud to say all were strays or rescued animals. Our cat "Topper", is now 16 years old. He has become completely blind and now sadly has a serious heart murmur. We hope to care for and love him until he has to leave our world. In the mean time we are spoiling him as much as we can. He has his own couch and heating pad!
I support various animal rescue and shelter groups, and Wildlife conservation programs. We must do all that we can to preserve the worlds many lovely and wonderful wild creatures, on the land, in the sea, and in the air.
